Kosovo Polje - A Serbian official was found dead in Kosovo yesterday, and the senior international observer in the province, Mr William Walker, said he had expressed his abhorrence to leading ethnic Albanian guerrillas.

The killing of a local deputy mayor, Mr Zvonko Bojanic, who Serb sources said had been abducted from his home by armed men in Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) uniforms, further raised tensions in the region, where 46 people have been killed this week.
