Suggestions that the referendum on the Northern Ireland Agreement and on the Amsterdam Treaty should be held on the same day were "an absolute scandal", said Mr Anthony Coughlan of The National Platform.
Instead, he said, "the Amsterdam Treaty referendum should be postponed until the autumn to give the people of the Republic sufficient time to learn what is in it."
