Berne - Swiss secret service chief Mr Peter Regli has been put "on leave" amid an arms-trafficking scandal, Defence Minister Mr Adolf Ogi said yesterday. Mr Ogi said the scandal could have "unimaginable" consequences.
According to the newspaper Sonntagsblick, police have seized hundreds of precision weapons and ammunition in Koeniz, near Berne, thought to have been destined for mafia-type organisations.
