Tickets for the much-anticipated second U2 concert at Slane went on sale today after a decision by Meath County Council to approve the application for the second date.

The second concert will be on Saturday, September 1st.

A decision on the concert was expected last week, but on Friday the council announced it was reviewing submissions from a number of interested parties.

A spokesman for the council denied the delay had been caused by objections from four local residents.

Today’s decision will be welcomed by the thousands of fans who were disappointed when tickets for U2’s first concert on August 25th were sold out within 45 minutes of going on sale.
