Gardai in Navan yesterday released a second man being questioned about the murder in 1992 of Co Louth farmer Mr Colm Daffy. They had earlier released without charge another man they had been questioning about the killing under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.

Det Sgt Des McTiernan described the inquiry as "an extremely difficult investigation". This is partly because Mr Daffy's body was not found for four to five days after his death, in his car in the yard of his home on the Kells Road at Collon.
