A search resumed at first light today for an angler who went missing yesterday in Donegal last night.

The alarm was raised at about 8.30 p.m. for the man who disappeared while fishing on the Gweebarra River in west Donegal. It is believed the sandbank he was standing on collapsed.

The search, which involves the Bunbeg Coast Guard, the Arranmore Lifeboat, garda divers and the rescue helicopter from Sligo, resumed this morning after it was called off at midnight.
