LONDON - The British Tory MP, Sir Nicholas Scott, was last night making a determined political fight to retain his parliamentary seat following his constituency executive's refusal to endorse him.

The 63-year-old former minister made clear in a series of media appearances that he had no intention of giving up without a struggle. Members of the Kensington and Chelsea Tory committee were annoyed that he had once again been the subject of newspaper headlines after being found slumped in the gutter following a reception at the party conference last month in Bournemouth.
