Scots candidates deadline today

London - British Labour leaders came under pressure last night to look again at the cases of MPs rejected as candidates for the Scottish Parliament. A left-winger, Mr Dennis Canavan, was one of those turned down on the basis of his interview, even though he has been a Westminster MP for 24 years. Today is the deadline for rejected candidates to appeal and there is a possibility of legal action by the disgruntled.
