France eased to a 31-0 win over Scotland this afternoon to set up a probable Six Nations championship decider against England in Paris next weekend.

France can complete their fourth grand slam in eight years next Saturday but could still take the Six Nations title in defeat as long as they do not lose by eight points - a scenario which would give the title to world champions England.

Ireland have an outside title chance but need a narrow England win combined with a huge Dublin victory over Scotland to win the title.

Scotland, thrashed 51-9 by France in last year's World Cup, were similarly outclassed today.

Olivier Magne opened the scoring with a try after seven minutes before scrum-half Dimitri Yachvili, in for the injured Jean-Baptiste Elissalde, struck four penalties.

Centre Yannick Jauzion then blasted through for two tries to send Scotland heading for the wooden spoon after failing to score against France for the first time since 1961.
