A new tax relief scheme aimed at encouraging donations to sports organisations is included in the Budget.
Relief will be available on donations to capital projects, subject to an approval process and provided the tax affairs of the sports bodies are certified as being in order.
Full details of the scheme, which is estimated to cost €700,000 next year will be set out in the Finance Bill.
