Ryanair said it will end its efforts to buy out Aer Lingus if its efforts to secure shareholder approval are unsuccessful by the expiry of the current offer.

At an airline conference in Dublin today the airline said its €750 million offer for Aer Lingus will not be improved nor extended beyond the February 13th expiry date.

Separately today Labour party deputy Tommy Broughan said Aer Lingus pilots had expressed "grave concerns" to him over the bid during a meeting yesterday.
