A leading Russian criminal who had companies registered in the Caribbean and Dublin has been jailed for five years and had his property seized by a court in St Petersburg.
Dmitri Yakubovsky, a lawyer, was involved in the theft of ancient manuscripts worth $250 million.
His companies, registered in St Vincent and the Grenadines in the Caribbean, and at an address on Wellington Quay, Dublin, have been accused of giving gifts of mink coats and diamonds to the wives of Russian officials visiting the west.
