RUC knows no motive for Belfast pub arson

The RUC is investigating an early morning arson attack on a Belfast pub today. There were no injuries in the attack.

Two men forced their way into the Hedgehog and Bucket Bar on the Old Park Road in Belfast at 1 o'clock and used accelerant liquid to set it alight.

A police patrol arrived and put out the fire which caused fire, smoke and water damage.

The RUC say there in no known motive for the attack.

The RUC is also seeking information after an armed robbery of a BG store on the Holywood Road in Belfast last night.

Two men, one with a handgun and the other with a stick, forced two women to let them inside the locked store at 9.05. One of the women was threatened with the gun.

The men took cash and credit card slips.
