The RUC is investigating an incident in which a 17-year-old rugby player received serious neck and spinal injuries in the last minutes of play. An allegation of assault was lodged.
The incident, which left Craig McMillan in intensive care, happened during the annual match between his school's team in Ballyclare, Co Antrim, and the town's rugby club under-18 side 10 days ago. Mr McMillan's condition was described yesterday as "stable" by a spokesman at the Royal Victoria Hospital.
