The RUC yesterday insisted all their ammunition is "limited, controlled and accounted for". The force was responding to an article in Ireland On Sunday which claimed large quantities of RUC ammunition were allegedly being stolen from RUC stores and illegally sold at firing ranges throughout the North. The bullets involved, "38 specials" are used in RUC standard-issue Heckler and Koch rifles and revolvers.
