Police are questioning a man after a Royal Mail van was hijacked in Belfast.

Police are questioning a man after a Royal Mail van was hijacked in Belfast.

The vehicle was seized from the driver at knifepoint around 10.50am this morning at Carrigart Avenue in the west of the city.

It was then driven towards Shaw's Road and Lenadoon Avenue.

Police believe the van then crashed into the railings and wall of a house. It is not believed anyone was injured.

A 25-year-old man has been arrested.

Investigators have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
