Shamrock Rovers have failed to improve on their dismal start to the season after losing one nil to St Patrick's Athletic at Tolka Park this evening.

A twelfth minute Tony Bird strike delighted the impressive Pat's support and heralded the beginning of a very one-sided match.

Charles Mbanzi Livingstone should have doubled that lead afer neatly rounding Rovers' keeper Robbie Horgan. However after misfiring when scoring looked easier Livingstone's chance was gone as Horgan smothered the ball at the second attempt.

Rovers never really got a look in and the dis-illusioned faithful went home baffled with more than the lack of a new stadium.
