Wales midfielder Mark Pembridge returned to the side after a hamstring injury with Li Tie dropping out. Full-back Tony Hibbert shrugged off a gashed thigh to retain his place in the team.
With Joseph Yobo and David Unsworth suspended, David Weir partnered Alan Stubbs at the back.
