Temporary accommodation in a local hotel have been arranged by the Eastern Regional Health Authority for a Co Wicklow family whose caravans were burnt out overnight.

The 11 children and their parents were left homeless after the two mobile homes in which they lived were destroyed by fire in Rathnew early this morning.

All of the family, whose home was on waste ground outside the village, managed to escape from the fire.

The family lost all their possessions in the fire.
