A truck collided with two mini-vans in Egypt today, killing 14 people and injuring 11, the state-run Middle East News Agency (MENA) reported.

The accident happened near the Mediterranean port city of Alexandria.

Reckless driving, lax traffic rules and poor road conditions cause many road crashes in Egypt. A series of road and rail accidents in recent years has sparked a public outcry over the government's record on transport safety.
