River search for man continues

The search is continuing today for a man who went missing on Saturday night, feared drowned in the river Suir.

The Tramore coastguard has been called in to help with the search which is ongoing.

Gardaí said two men got into distress in the Tipperary river on Saturday night with one man following the other into the water in a rescue bid. No other details have been released.

One man was saved and taken to Waterford Regional Hospital from where he has now been released. The other man, who has not yet been identified, has not been seen since.
