The 80th anniversary of the Easter Rising was marked in Enniscorthy, Co Wexford, by a Mass held in St Aidan's Cathedral yesterday. This was followed by a procession to the 1798 monument in the Market Square which was addressed by the Minister for Agriculture, Mr Yates. The Sinn Fein ardcomhairle member, Mr Martin McGuinness, was present.

In the afternoon 300 people marched in a Sinn Fein parade through the town to St Mary's Cemetery. "We are not alone," said Mr McGuinness. "It is heartening to see so many people who are not ashamed to come out and commemorate this event."
