Rioters threw petrol and blast bombs at police in north Belfast last night.
A hijacked car was set on fire and barricades set up as violence erupted in the Shore Road area of the city.
The rioting broke out after a Protestant-owned house was allegedly attacked in the loyalist Whitewell Road area. The house was empty at the time and nobody was injured.
Fire crews at the scene withdrew after being attacked.
