An order restraining a number of Travellers from trespassing on lands near the Southern Cross Motorway was issued by the High Court yesterday.

Mr Justice O'Sullivan also granted an order prohibiting the Travellers from interfering with lands at Rathfarnham owned by CPK Ireland Ltd, of Harcourt Street, Dublin.

The court was told that more caravans had moved into a layby adjoining CPK Ireland's lands at the junction of College Road and Kellystown Road over the weekend. Construction work is underway in adjoining lands for the Southern Cross Motorway.

The court was told that gardai and officials of Dun Laoghaire Rathdown Council had moved members of the travelling community from a nearby site adjoining Kilmashogue Bridge three weeks ago, but some of them had then moved onto the lay-by.

Gardai had also stopped the demolition of a wall separating the lay-by and lands owned by CPK Ireland.
