The Faculty of Agriculture at UCD yesterday issued its 14th research report, highlighting about 250 projects completed in the last two years by its 59 academic staff and 250 postgraduate students.
The 248 page report includes projects on feed ingredients, animal embryos, novel crop production systems, soil processes in forests and vitamin C reduction in fruit juice stored in the fridge.
The work was supported by more than £4.5 million in funding from the EU, the Department and major companies including the Bank of Ireland, Greencore, Forbairt and Waterford Foods. The ceremony was attended by Mr Jimmy Deenihan, the Minister of State at the Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry.
