Two inspectors with the Southern Regional Fishery Board have been remanded on continuing bail on charges of corruption.

At Waterford District Court yesterday, Insp Michael Blake applied for a one month adjournment in the case against Mr Edward Haley, of Polerone, Mooncoin, and Mr Edward Casey, of Lisadell Park, Carrick on Suir, who both face five charges under the Prevention of Corruption Act.

The charges allege offences between 1987 and 1993 around the south east.

The inspector said the adjournment was necessary to allow service of the book of evidence. Neither defendant objected. Judge Michael Patwell put the case back to March 21st and remanded both men on continuing bail of £600 each.
