The man charged with raping the 13-year-old girl at the centre of the recent abortion debate changed his lawyer yesterday. The 24-year-old father of three is charged with unlawful carnal knowledge of a girl of less then 15 years on August 27th last.

Mr Terence Hanahoe said his client wished to discharge him as his Legal Aid solicitor. Judge Gillian Hussey agreed and, at the defendant's request, assigned Mr James McGuill of Drogheda instead.
