A man has died after being struck by a train in Killester in North Dublin.

A man has died after being struck by a train in Killester in North Dublin.

The man was struck by the Enterprise train which was travelling from Connolly Station to Belfast.  The accident happened near Killester station shortly after 11 am today.

Services between Connolly Station and Howth junction were suspended for an hour and have since resumed.

Earlier this morning, Dart services were disrupted following an accident between Landsdowne Road and Canal Dock.

A lorry hit the underside of the dart bridge at South Lotts causing damage to the dart line.

Services were delayed between 7.30 and 7.50 am while repairs were being carried out.

A spokeswoman for Irish Rail said no one was hurt in the accident. She added that such incidents are becoming a regular occurance - dart bridges are often damaged by heavy goods vehicles passing underneath.
