Police in south Co Down are investigating the attempted kidnap of a young girl yesterday morning.

Police in south Co Down are investigating the attempted kidnap of a young girl yesterday morning.

A man driving a white van approached the 16-year-old girl on Newry Street, Rathriland yesterday morning, and grabbed her by the waist.

Police describe the man as being aged in his late 20s or early 30s, tall with stout build and wearing work clothes.
