Up to 100 people took part in a protest at the Mexican embassy in Dublin at the weekend, following recent massacres in that country, writes Patsy McGarry.

Including Christians from many denominations, the protesters laid two wreaths outside the embassy gate in memory of those killed in the Chiapas area of Mexico towards the end of last year, including seven evangelical Christians. A message on each wreath read "Liberty, Equality, and Security for evangelicals in Mexico."

A three-man delegation presented a letter from Mr Ben Briscoe TD to embassy official Mr Jorge Rosas. It called on the Mexican government to bring to justice those responsible for the recent murders.
