THE DIRECTOR of Public Prosecutions has directed there be no prosecution against Cork radio presenter Neil Prendeville after examining a file from gardaí who investigated a complaint that Prendeville had performed a lewd act on an Air Lingus flight.

Gardaí completed a file after investigating a complaint that Prendeville exposed himself on an aircraft as it was preparing to take off from London Heathrow to Cork airport on October 19th last.

Detectives interviewed Prendeville and took statements from nine others who were on board the flight at the time, including the captain, cabin crew and two passengers who were seated on either side of him when the alleged incident took place.

Gardaí also obtained CCTV footage from airport security at Heathrow Airport as well as at Cork airport and compiled a detailed file on the matter which was sent to the DPP at the end of November for consideration.
