More than 50 people were presented with Deafblind Friendly Awards in St Vincent's Deaf Centre in Drumcondra, Dublin, last night.
The award, launched in June by the National Deafblind League, aims at giving people a sense of achievement, encouraging others to be deafblind friendly and also to publicly recognise anyone who has been nominated as being deserving of an award. Those nominated have shown friendship, help and support to deafblind people.
The award consists of a tactile certificate and a medal.
