Garda Commissioner Fachtna Murphy attended a ceremony in Lifford, Co Donegal, yesterday for Garda Robbie McCallion, who died last year in the line of duty.
A civic commemorative honour was awarded posthumously to Garda McCallion (29), who was seriously injured in a crash in Letterkenny in March 2009.
Garda McCallion’s father was a garda, his two uncles were garda superintendents and his brother is a garda.
