LISBON - Portugal will return to being one hour behind most of Europe by not switching clocks back an hour on March 31st, the Prime Minister, Mr Antonio Guterres, said yesterday. The decision not to change the hour this spring will put Portugal on the same time as Ireland.

Portugal, whose capital Lisbon is Europe's most westerly city, brought its local time into line with neighbouring Spain and most of its EU partners in 1992.
