Police in Belfast were called in to quell disturbances in north Belfast after an explosive device exploded near security gates.

The device, believed to have been thrown from the loyalist Tiger’s Bay estate off Halliday’s Road over the ‘"peace wall", exploded in the nationalist Duncairn Gardens.

There were no injuries, and the remnants of the device have been removed for examination.
