Police break up picket line

Sydney - Riot police broke up a picket line of more than 300 protesters yesterday as Australia's bitter waterfront dispute led car manufacturer Toyota Australia to announce it would lay off its entire 2,500-strong workforce. Police with batons drawn dragged 70 protesters from a picket outside the port of Fremantle. "It's not the Australian way," yelled one protester as she was carried away by police.
