The notices posted on sites and buildings giving details of planning applications need to be larger, the Green Party spokesman on Trade and Tourism said.

"The small A4 size of planning applications means they are unnoticeable in the midst of posters, traffic signs, advertising and graffiti," says Mr Pat Fitzpatrick.

The size of the notice should be in proportion to the total square footage of the proposed development.

"Individuals should not have to constantly monitor the papers for the latest planning notices," Mr Fitzpatrick added.
