Plaid Cymru accused of `lies'

Labour yesterday accused Plaid Cymru of running a negative election campaign based on "lies and myths". Welsh Labour published an eight-page document "nailing the nationalist lies" with detailed rebuttals of Plaid attacks on the government's economic record.

The document dismisses Plaid claims of a growing gap between rich and poor under Labour. It describes Plaid's claim that GDP per head in Wales has continued to fall under Labour as "an absolute copper-bottomed lie".
