A TCD physics student has won the Institute of Physics student lecture competition, beating six other finalists from Ireland and Britain.

Mr Finn Macleod, a first-year undergraduate in Theoretical Physics, and who comes from the Orkney Islands in Scotland, won the competition on March 26th in Leeds with his lecture entitled: "Resonance of bubbles with simple harmonic motion", which included a description of experiments he carried out while still at school.
