Police have linked a petrol bomb attack on a house in Co Antrim to serious violence in the area over the weekend.

Police said windows were smashed, and a device was thrown into the property in the Chiswick Walk area of Ballymena shortly after 10pm yesterday. A woman was treated for smoke inhalation and minor damage was caused.

A PSNI spokeswoman said the attack may be connected to disturbances in the Victoria Park and Camberwell areas.

Early on Saturday morning, two people were injured following a street brawl, and a short time later a house was petrol-bombed.

Four people were arrested; two remain in custody, while two have been released pending a report to the Public Prosecution Service.

A number of weapons, including crossbows and fireworks, were seized.
