Mick Jagger and Jerry Hall arrived in the same car for novelist Martin Amis's party but it was no longer a case of Let's Spend the Night Together. The words of the old Rolling Stones hit ring hollow since supermodel Hall officially ended their 22-year relationship in July after a Brazilian model, Luciana Morad, became pregnant with Jagger's child. Close associates say Jagger and Hall, who received a reported £10 million settlement, remain the best of friends.

Princess Cristina, the youngest daughter of Spain's king and queen, gave birth to a son yesterday. The child, named Juan, is the second grandchild for King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia. Cristina, who married Basque handball player Inaki Urgandarain in October 1997, gave birth in Barcelona's Teknon Hospital.

Icelandic President Olafur Ragnar Grimssom will attend tomorrow's opening session of parliament despite breaking his shoulder on Monday in a fall from his horse. Grimssom fell while riding in southern Iceland with Dorrit Moussaai eff (49), an Englishwoman with whom Grissom, widowed for nearly a year, recently admitted he was in love.
