Two Palestinians exiled as part of a deal to end the siege at Bethlehem's Church of the Nativity could arrive in Ireland tonight.
Details are being finalised for the arrival of the two men who are part of a group of 13 who will be accommodated in EU countries.
The men, whose identities have not been disclosed, have been staying in Cyprus since they left Bethlehem last month. .
A Spanish plane left Cyprus today with 12 of the Palestinians on board. The thirteenth man is to stay in Cyprus.
It is not yet clear when the two destined for Ireland will arrive but the Department of Justice hopes to finalise arrangements for accommodating them later today.
The Department of Foreign Affairs are responsible for overseeing the transportation of the two but, as yet, it is not clear whether the Spanish plane will bring the two men to Ireland.
It is understood the plane will stop off in Athens and Rome before arriving in Madrid where the remaining men will be dispersed.
