RUC officers investigating paedophile activities have contacted gardai in Dundalk as they believe some teenagers involved are from the town. Copies of pornographic photographs are to be forwarded to gardai to try to identify the children.
The man at the centre of an RUC investigation was arrested earlier this month in Ballymena, Co Antrim, but had lived in Duadalk for two years. It is believed that gardai in Dublin also want to interview him in connection with other alleged offences.
A Garda spokesperson in Dundalk said they had not received any complaint of a sexual nature against the man butt confirmed that the RUC had made contact and said it was believed that some of the material seized from the man might refer to Dundalk children.
