Athens - Greece indicated yesterday that Mr Abdullah Ocalan would not be welcome despite Kurdish efforts to have the leader of Turkey's separatist Kurdish guerrillas enter and stay for up to six months.
"We do not consider it useful for the Kurdish leader to pass through or stay in Greece," the government spokesman, Mr Dimitris Reppas, said. Meanwhile, the Italian Prime Minister, Mr Massimo D'Alema, said yesterday that Turkey had lost out by rejecting an international trial for Mr Ocalan, who left Rome at the weekend for an unknown destination.
