Bangkok - Indonesia said yesterday it would help investigate the killing of a New Zealand UN soldier in East Timor by suspected pro-Jakarta militia, and hunt those responsible.

The Foreign Minister, Mr Alwi Shihab, asked if Indonesia would actively pursue the killers, said: "Yes, let us see first who is the actor."

Pte Leonard William Manning (24) was found shot dead on Monday after his patrol fought a five-minute gun battle with suspected militiamen.
