Mr John Greene has been appointed regional tourism manager-designate by the North West Tourist Authority. He is currently Bord Failte's manager for Northern Europe. He will succeed Mr Dan O'Neill, who is to retire in October.
Mr O'Neill has served in the office since 1983.
The chairman of the North West Tourist Authority, Mr Sean McEniff, said Mr Greene was joining them at a time when the ceasefire in Northern Ireland and improvements in the tourism product of the North West Tourist Region were providing a basis for expansion.
