Irish wind farm and waste-recycling operator NTR has purchased British garbage disposal and reprocessing company Verdant Group for an undisclosed sum.

The acquisition is NTR's 11 thin that sector since March in a series that includes two other companies in Britain, three in Ireland and five in the US.

It is understood that these acquisitions will see revenues at NTR's waste division, Greenstar, triple to around €460 million.

NTR shares are not listed but can be bought through the company's Dublin-based stockbrokers, Davy Stockbrokers, Goodbody Stockbrokers and NCB Stockbrokers.

The shares last traded at €6.25 each, compared with €7 at the start of the year, according to NTR.
