Some 70 exhibitors from Northern Ireland will make up a special pavilion at Holiday World in the RDS this week in a drive to attract tourists from the Republic. "The message of welcome and value from the Northern Ireland trade is stronger than ever," said Mr Mark Alexander, group marketing director of the Northern Ireland Tourist Board.

The High Sheriff of Belfast, Mr Steve McBride, will open the Belfast stand this evening with a special promotion for the new £32 million Waterfront project. A spokesman for Mr McBride said the tourist industry in the North intended to defy the unfavourable political climate and promote the industry vigorously.
