Norkom, a Dublin-based software company which makes anti-crime systems for financial organisations, has seen its full-year profits climb by 50 per cent on the back of a major US acquisition and the signing of over 30 new contracts last year.
Norkom saw net income in the year to March 31st increase from €5.9m from €3.9m a year earlier.
Adjusted earnings per share rose 43 per cent to 7.69 cent.
Revenue at the software company climbed 64 per cent to €41m, helped by the acquisition of Digital Harbour last July 2007.
The company said that Digital Harbour had moved into profit this year and that the deal had significantly boosted its sales in the US.
It also signed contracts with 32 new customers, including American Express and Washington Mutual, in the 12-month period up to the end of March.
The company said that a weak dollar had seen sales lose €1.6m of their value while €600,000 had been wiped off operating profits.
Norkom's software is used by financial organisations in more than 100 countries across four continents including four of the worlds' top ten banks.
It employs close to 200 people at its Dublin headquarters.
