Evidence of a cover up by the Widgery Tribunal on the Bloody Sunday killings of 1972 in Derry would come as no surprise to many people, according to the Fianna Fail TD, Dr James McDaid.

Last week's Channel Four programme, which showed that the truth had been smothered by successive British governments, should now give rise to formal apology for what was done 25 years ago "if the British government has any interest in peace and trust between communities and between these two islands," he said.
